On Saturday, February 21, 2009, Full Sail University (fullsail.edu) was proud to serve as the location for A Gift For Teaching?s (http://www.agiftforteaching.org ) annual fundraising event, ?Lights, Candles, Auction,? which welcomed nearly 300 guests and raised over ,000 to benefit the mission of this non-profit organization.

Held throughout several soundstages on the Full Sail University campus, and emceed by Mitch English of the nationally syndicated morning talk show, The Daily Buzz, the evening served as a celebration of A Gift For Teaching?s ten-year birthday and commitment to providing supplies for students and teachers in the local school community. Sponsored by Bright House Networks, the event offered guests the opportunity to participate in a themed Hollywood-style evening including red carpet interviews, live music, raffles, a silent auction, and showcased Crayon Masterpieces created by local school students.

Since opening in September of 1998, A Gift For Teaching has grown to serve 333 schools in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties, and has distributed more than million worth of school supplies to local teachers and students in need.

A Gift For Teaching is a Central Florida non-profit organization that serves 333 public schools in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. The Free Store in Orlando and its satellite store, A Gift For Teaching of Osceola County, are funded and stocked by local individuals and companies. Since 1998, more than million worth of school supplies, including essential classroom tools such as pencils, notebooks, glue, backpacks, art supplies, books and more have been distributed to local students in need, diverting more than 7 million pounds of products from landfills.
