When most of us mistype words, we only hit backspace up until the point where we made the mistake, or we correct it later with spellcheck. Instead, try immediately deleting the entire word to learn from the error.
This trick forces us to go back and type the whole word correctly, rather than simply fixing a small error. Since typing relies so heavily on muscle memory, this technique can help us type the word correctly the next time. And, if you use a keyboard shortcut (CTRL+Backspace on Windows, or Option+Delete on OS X) to delete the entire word at once, this might even end up being faster than finding and fixing just a letter or two.
Whenever you mistype a word, don't just remove it to the point where you made the mistake, remove the whole word, you will train you brain to type it perfectly next time. | Reddit via Lifehack.org
