I owe the motivation to make this recipe to my good friend Caitlin Weeks of GrassFedGirl.com. She is always telling me how awesome it is to throw frozen meat into the crock pot at night and wake up to amazing food in the morning. She?s right. I?m just the kind of person who gets tired of certain flavors all the time, but I am realizing that I LOVE braised dishes that have a tomato-based sauce. YUM. This is what I made last night before I tucked into sleep.
Right now in my kitchen the crock pot is full of beef heart - cost $5.0 that will feed our dog for a week. On the stove is our stock pot full of bones and onions that will make all the stock we need for the week. Cost of bones $1.50.
You don't have to have any skills to cook like this. Crock Pots also cook while you are at work. With the Lamb recipe here, the assembly takes no time and then a few hours later - it's ready.
Many people have asked me if eating more meat is expensive and time consuming. If you think that eating meat is all about Prime Rib then the answer is yes. But if you use ALL the animal and you make stock and use a crock pot the answer is NO!
