Been a while I know?a challenging dialysis time over the last couple of months (a new blog post for sure!)
However, for those that know me, the biggest thing I miss since having to start dialysis is the freedom of being able to travel. I am finally going for a holiday to Melbourne, Australia!! After 5 years, I?m finally going to do some travel. ?:)
Dialysis sessions booked (thanks to the reciprocal health agreement in place between NZ and Australia), accommodation sorted (staying with friends), and travel insurance bought. ?So Melbourne here I come!
Insurance
For other ESRD/dialysis patients wanting to travel from NZ there really is only 1 insurance company that will even look at you as a renal patient over here. Save yourselves the hassle of ringing every company separately, having to go through an assessment (usually at a time that suits them) to be told that they do not cover ESRD patients, including those that are on a transplant list.
Call State Insurance (and no I don?t get any commissions) for a quick and easy, and well thought out travel insurance plan. Ph: 0800 155 777 or email:?.nz.
Happy travels!
